Day in the life, Fall Quarter
In a day in the life working remotely and freelance for Fresh Start Christian Sober Living, there is a good amount that goes into a day. Typically, I’ll receive an email from the company’s CEO telling me what part of the website he wants to be further refined and how he would want to go about that. Usually something like adding in a new testimonial video, changing font coloring to better match the company color scheme, adding new copy to a section or creating copy, to even setting up a new donation website. Most of my work is done on WordPress, however at some points I will use LLMs such as ChatGPT, not to generate copy, but as a third party observer on the website, asking it if the website flows well between pictures, quotes, videos, and copy. Working on SEO for each page is also critical, with emphasis being placed specifically on the Christian aspect of the company. The company is very small, being family owned. I currently am the only one working on any form of digital marketing for the company, with no indication whether or not there will be expansion in the future. I currently am preparing a pitch deck to discuss whether we should expand into the social media sphere, how we would expand, and what any future social media efforts may look like. I’ve learned a lot, especially about personal time management with other commitments, additionally with developing plans that fit in well with specific companies interests while predicting where they may be months or years ahead of now. Technically, I’ve learned a lot to do with website development behind the scenes, with having to use WordPress extensively throughout the course of working for Fresh Start.
